Haunted Houses
CarnEvil-The Game Warehouse
"This was by far my favorite haunt. Maybe because I like clowns because it wasn't that scary it just has a very well done layout inside. I liked the spinning tunnel and the paint room the best, they were good effects to the haunt."
"A dark carnival with killer clowns of all shapes and sizes around every corner to scare you. I found the set design to be better than the actors but it could have just been because I went through at the beginning of the run. As the actors become more comforable with their surroundings and the dark environment they can develop their characters fully. This was very intense but has room for improvement."

Chateau Du Damné-The Hi-Test Arcade
"The secluded chateau of Baron and Baroness Le Marquand was opened once again to the brave souls that dared to enter the long hallways and haunted corradors of evil. Some nights seemed to be lacking more than others but the detail was a little more prevalent than last year. If you enter the vampire maze at night (your eye will adjust better than if you go in the day or afternoon) you will see more of the art work and details of the mansion."
"I really liked the theme of this haunt. The whole house was set up very nicely and it starts with the amazing butler at the beginning. That guy does a amazing job at playing his part and he was the most memorable actor of the haunt this year for me. My favorite part of it was probably the part with all the hair like things hanging down while vampires would pop out and scare you."

Mangler Asylum-Bumper Cars Building
"Probably the scariest haunt of the bunch by far. My favorite part was with the really bright yellow lights that you couldn't see through and all the actors in this one were the best of all the haunts I think. The actors had to try the hardest to be scary and they did a good job."
"The abandoned asylum of creatures, killers and villians ready to make you one of them. This is a very intense house. Most of the time you get turned around and characters have not real place to be; they have no scripts and not limitations (except no touching). The actors really stepped up to make this the "Attraction of the Year" and best "Indoor Attraction". I walked this house many times last year and this year it just seemed 'different'. The hanging baby diapers were definitally akward."

Scare Zones/Walkthrough's
Carnage at Crimson Isle-Around IMAX
"Pirates. I really didn't think I could take the pirate 'area' seriously at first. Thank goodness I walked it at night! There were angry and scary pirates at every cove and corner. During the day it seems as though this area would be dull but at night with the fog and the cover of darkness wow! Every opportunity to scare is taken and done well, each scare didn't seem to be the same."
"They used the most fog for this maze for sure. Starting with the front entrance to this you can't see as your going up the ramp that always gave me a weary feeling. It wasn't the scariest of the bunch but had a good theme and some of the actors were really great in this. My favorite part was all the strobes, it took me about 3 or 4 times going through it before I memorized it and wouldn't get lost."

Blood Creek Cemetery-Kidworks/Corkscrew Walkway
"This was changed slightly and I noticed that the Wraith (7ft tall monster with a animal skull and long syth shaped arms) that was at the end of the Chateau du Damne last year was in the cemetary this year. But something I also noticed was that some of the characters would leave the area and roam the park as independent characters....I LOVED IT!!! This was a great area to sit and watch other get scared but make sure you have your back to something solid otherwise you become the victim."
" I wasn't to thrilled about this zone this year. It didn't scare me and there were not too many effects or scary actors that did much besides follow you. I did like all the fog and there was a baby carriage with a baby that would pop up I liked that."

Hellside Farm-Flume Walkway
"A good addition to the haunt this year. I was the first public person to go through this ever! The actors had great makeup and costumes for this that made it kinda scary. I liked all the chain saws and the guys with steel that would make sparks on the ground."
"Um, my expectations were about average for this area and it sunk to a really low, low. I was not impressed with this area at all. It was treated like a house although it was advertised as a scarezone. What I mean is that there was only one in and one out. It was short and not nearly enough detail the lack of length. The actors were less than intense minus a few who took Valleyscare seriously. Those characters I am refering to are the "Preacher and his disiples" along with the cornstalk guy that was hidden against the bails of hay at the end. They were amazing but I don't remember anything else."

Valleyscare Halloween Haunt 2007
"There is definitally room for improvement and I hope that in upcoming years there is more development and the kinks are fixed. I look forward to what the next houses are going to be and how the event evolves. Maybe they could develop a creative team of people who like halloween to help with the creation a the halloween event of the future."
"A good year - better then last year by far. I liked all the costumes and actors this year and hope they bring a lot of the same ones back and I look forward to seeing what will be new for next year."
"Valleyscare is probably my favorite time of the year for Valleyfair. The houses and midways are all very well done with the exception of maybe Hellside Farm which will hopefully improve for 2008. All the haunts that were featured in 2006 that were here in 2007 were a lot better this year and improved with a great amount. Hopefully the frights and everything else that makes the Halloween Haunt as amazing as it is will continue to keep getting better and better as the years go by."
